You hear so many stories that are worth being inspired over in this information obsessed world we live in. And as a rule of law a deaf mute pilot constructing his own light air craft would fit snugly into one of those feel good stories you read with a cup of coffee in your hand and then promptly forget about in a few hours.
But Saji Thomas from Thattakuzha village in Idukki district of Kerala begs to differ. His achievement as a deaf and mute member of our society who aimed for the heights of the sky and succeeded is nothing to blink about.
And it is still relevant today because neither the government nor the private sector took any notice of this eight standard drop out and there still isn’t a movie style closure to Saji’s story. The daring of the unrecognized, is the crux of our civil society, isn’t it?
